[Transcripts] Disparity- Chapter 7: In the Lap of Luxury

##Wiki/Chapter list = First Chapter = Previous = Next

Xant found himself holding on for dear life, his body crammed into a vehicle it clearly wasn’t designed for. His tail was squished between the tall seat and the frame of the machine, his legs too far apart for them to sit comfortably in the narrow footwell, so he was almost sideways in the forward-facing seat, but that also gave him a clear view of its pilot’s insane method of ‘driving’ the shaking contraption.
Jasmine didn’t even need to look where her feet and hands were going, moving them simultaneously to shift in and out of gear by instinct, all the while singing harsh, deep-throated songs at the top of her lungs.
Xant had been observing the human since her revival, and while she had had her ‘aggressive’ outbursts, brought on through stress and despair respectively, to see her exercise such aggression was fascinating. She was entranced, focused on some unknown ‘enemy’ and screaming her pent up emotions at ‘it’. Xant had never seen such emotional power simply blasted into the atmosphere without worry or consequence, but he couldn’t deny he was caught up in the triumph and relief the song gave her.
With practised ease, Jasmine stopped the car at the base of the enormous craft, then gleefully jumped out to climb atop the roof again. “Up here, Xant!” she called.
The doctor squirmed his way out of the car and stood on the ground, looking up at the human. She pointed to a small thin ladder welded to the side of the ship’s stern. “We need to climb that to get on board.”
Xant stared at her and then at the wide jump needed to cover that distance.
“Is this another attempt at humour?” The human did laugh, so he supposed he was right.
“Well, we could always wait for Rynard to throw you!” She smiled, making a hand motion of hefting a ball. “Like tossing a dwarf!” She giggled.
Xant for the first time questioned Jasmine’s intelligence.
“Perhaps we left you in stasis too long…”
He quickly examined the gap. It was going to be an extraordinary effort for him to climb atop the vehicle, let alone cross the divide with his physical ability alone. He tried to mimic Jasmine’s method of climbing on the car, but his hands and feet were not able to find the small gaps her narrower ones could find. In the end she had to pull him up, and felt the roof bow with his weight. From up top the distance to the ladder seemed even greater. “How exactly do you propose we climb the ladder from here?” he asked her, but Jasmine was still riding the exhilarating high of being ‘thunderstruck’.
“Like this!”
Without so much as a run-up Jasmine leapt towards the ladder and landed with precision, her elongated limbs showing an agility Xant had not considered during the physical examination. “Let me reframe the question,” he huffed. “How exactly do you expect me to climb the ladder from here?!” “Oh it’s not that far, it’s barely a jump!”
“Zenthi don’t ‘jump’.” “That offer for Rynard to throw you is still on the table.” Xant scoffed, took a deep breath and rationalised the situation.
He was in a military-grade suit, so while his weight and aerodynamics would be affected, his strength was increased and any fall damage negated through the armour and pain blocker chems. So, even if he fell, the only thing that would suffer would be his pride. Another uncomfortable thought peeked through the rationale.
He said he wanted to follow Jasmine. This would mean having to keep up with her. He couldn’t do that if he forever deliberated his shortcomings.
Xant inched closer to the edge of the car and Jasmine helpfully reached out to him, hanging precariously from the metal bars. “I’ll catch you!” She encouraged him. Her arms closing the distance boosted his confidence considerably, and he swayed his body back and forth, ready to leap. This would count as the most adventurous he had been in the steel suit, forever wary of Rynard’s warning of torn ligaments. Xant closed his eyes and pushed himself forward, the suit multiplying the force needed to get him across and almost smashing into the side of the yacht. Thankfully, Jasmine was able to correct her friend’s trajectory and guided his hands to the ladder’s sides, which he clung to for dear life. Jasmine gave a loud cheer. “You did it! Way to go, Xant!” And she patted his shoulder. “Now we just have to get to the top! Did you want to go first?”
Once again, he looked at the human as though she were lacking in common sense.
“How do I ‘go first’? You’re clearly ahead of me!” Jasmine could only smile as she maneuvered so only one hand and arm were on the ladder, her body swaying in the open air, unafraid of the drop below. “There you go! Now you’re clear. I’ll make sure you don’t fall!”
Xant shuddered, flattened his ears and forced himself to climb up the ladder. He could almost feel the thin aluminum bars being crushed under the strength of the suit, but one step at a time he climbed higher. The top was open, no hatch or easy step, so he had to scramble his way over and landed with a thud. By comparison, he heard Jasmine’s light footsteps make quick work of the ladder, and she was soon helping him up to his feet. “Careful,” she teased “you’ll scuff the deck!” “Scuff the what?...” “Take off your helmet, you’ll see things clearer!”
Warily, Xant let the locks of his helmet click and examined his surroundings. It was an ‘open air room’, the floor layered like in his office, multiple steps divided for different purposes, with a deep pit made of what looked like blue plastic as the focal point of the main room. Jasmine threw her arms open. “Welcome aboard, matey!” she announced. “Enjoy the pool deck!” “Pool? Was this filled with water-” Xant took a step closer but his ears were tickled by the sound underfoot. He had assumed the floor would have been of the same steel or plastics the ship was composed of but no, underneath him, the entire floor was made of wood. The doctor spluttered, reaching down to the floor to feel it. There was more wood here than he had seen in his entire lifetime, and humans used it for *flooring. *
“Ooh yeah, nothing beats a pristine hardwood deck, that’s why I told you not to scuff it.” Jasmine smiled, walking towards the glass doors. “Let’s check inside! I wonder if everything is still here?” Xant followed her. The whole building catered to a human’s sensibilities. He would be stepping into a truly alien environment.
And it was beautiful.
He was welcomed to a room detailed with wood and gold, whose glass windows shimmered even in the dim light. Displaced furniture, long couches and tables made of wood, extravagantly painted cloth with the shimmer of arvas pupa silk gathered dust, their beauty was comparable to imperial belongings. He ran a finger over the cushions and inspected the thin layer. “Phew! What a mess. Help me clean it up a bit…” Jasmine began lifting up an over turned chair, sliding it into a corner with an almost innate knowledge of where everything should go. The chairs, a long couch and two armchairs had all been pushed into the corner of the room the tables had slid to either end. Xant was almost too scared to touch anything. “What should I do?” he asked, afraid to risk any delicate work.
“We’ll start by dusting off the chairs, then I’ll tell you where they go, okay?”
“Alright...”
The chairs were covered in a soft cushiony material. Xant couldn't stop brushing his hand over them as he delicately placed the furniture, and was dismayed when he saw none of them had a hole for his tail.
“I’ll need help with this!” Jasmine called. The space beneath a large window was taken up by a long lounge, on which Jasmine promptly plonked herself. “Oh my god…I missed cushions.” She patted the space beside her. “Don't be shy! Take a load off!” “Just a moment.” Xant tapped his suit. He couldn't contain himself in steel any longer, the temptation to feel his new environment was too great. The suit splayed open and he was able to step out of it onto fluffy, soft carpet.
Xant lost himself rubbing his feet on the soft fibers. First wood, now fabric? It was obscene!
His own carpet was a precious momento, why would humans consider a laborious resource worth turning into a construction material?
“Is something wrong, Xant?”
“The floor, is this a common fixture?”
“The carpet? I mean, the owner was a madman to have white carpet on a boat, but if you can afford something like this you’re not cleaning it yourself.” Jasmine shrugged. “Carpet’s not uncommon, but generally going out of style because it's so hard to keep clean.”
Xant was both relieved and perplexed by the answer.
“So the reason it is not more common is maintenance?”
“Yeah, keeping carpet, let alone white carpet clean is a nightmare,” Jasmine explained, happy to be talking about the mundanity. “If you think the carpet is amazing you should try out the couch here!” Xant looked over the seat. It appeared all human furniture had a tall back support, with no consideration for large tails such as his own. He did spy a more accommodating stool, however, with the same cushiony substance on top.
“I think this might be more appropriate.” He flipped over the stool and sat, comfortably, very comfortably. He let his body relax as he took in more of the surroundings through naked eyes. There were still so many things thrown about. Cleaning against the wall next to his seat Xant spied an intricately carved container. It was rectangular, heavy and for whatever reason, had uniform, pyramid-shaped protrusions on the outside decorative surely, but the design made it difficult for him to hold. He had to be very careful picking it up.
Jasmine's eyes lit up when he inspected the object more closely, opening the stopper to sniff the contents within.
It smelled of disinfectant.
“Oh my god, yes!”
The human scrambled off the couch and started rummaging through the shelves in the lonely island bench.
“Jasmine?”
“Ah ha!” she cried triumphantly, pulling out another uniquely shaped bottle. “Now this is going to be great!” She skipped over to Xant, picking up more glass rectangles, handed him an empty one and placed his original find on the table. She poured out an amber liquid, a drop in his glass and a more substantial pour in hers.
“What is it?” Xant asked.
“Old enough to vote,” she giggled, then closed her eyes and took a small sip before exhaling and shivering pleasantly. “This is...well, I'm guessing it's older now, but aged whisky, a.k.a, human alcohol.”
Xant wrinkled up his nose.
“Is it supposed to be this colour?”
“Yes! When you drink it, you can taste the oak barrels and honey. But I know you guys use this for disinfectant, so, you get a drop if you're brave.”
“Considering what it does to your physiology, I doubt my own constitution can handle it.”
“Shame.” She shrugged and took another sip.
Xant couldn't taste it, but watched as Jasmine melted into relaxation.
“Ahhh, like drinking warm silk,” she described.
He took a sniff of the sample she gave him.
It was woody and sweet, but the second sniff burnt the inside of his nostrils. Xant graciously placed the ‘drink’ down, while Jasmine chuckled at his reaction.
“Yeah it’s not a drink for a first timer, I think it gets even more potent the longer it sits… and who knows how long we were floating out there.”
“By my best estimates, it could be anywhere between 10 to 1000 [quarters]. Calculating in the unexplored regions of the system, what is currently reachable by galactic council gates and the limit of stasis pods.” Xant informed her.
Jasmine sat quietly for a moment, staring into her glass, before she threw back her head and the drink in one go.
“Whoooo!” She coughed. “Okay, we've seen this room, what else is there to explore!” She swayed getting to her feet, but charged forward anyway. Xant followed close behind, in case she lost her footing, or incase the alcohol began interfering with her Freq control.
The hallways connecting the chambers were very narrow, almost too narrow for him, and all of them had such sharp ascents and descents. The human led inside to one of the many inner chambers, each one as tossed around as the last. There was an entire ‘library’ of paper books, another room dedicated to the act of ‘entertaining’, featuring a destroyed dataslate the size of an operating table, and smaller ‘bedrooms’ that appeared just to be filled with more cushiony furniture.
“And here is the master bedroom.” Jasmine pushed open the ornate wooden doors to reveal yet another spectacular room, almost as large as the entertainment deck, but was sparsely furnished, all Xant could see was that it contained a bed with tables either side, but the bed was nothing short of magnificent. The tapestry stretched across it was nothing short of breathtaking, where giant intertwining flowers embroidered with gold thread sprawled across its majesty. He’d never seen anything as intricate made from pure cloth, the designs were simply beautiful.
“You really like that bedspread, huh?” Jasmine questioned. Xant ran his hand over the quilt, picking it up and feeling the weight of it, wondering what it was like to not be mesmerised by it all.
“Are humans always surrounded by such beauty?” he asked.
The question caught her off guard, and she looked around the room.
“Not always, but, at the same time, this is closer to what it’s like on earth than either the station or the base.” She held her arms wide as she took lazy steps across the room.
“Windows, pictures and paint on the walls, bedsheets and pillows...we like ‘beautiful’ surroundings.” She fell backward onto the large bed, rolling on the blankets and looking up at Xant. “You’ve got no excuse not to feel what the bed is like.”
Xant sighed, took a deep breath and mimicked Jasmine’s actions, letting himself flop forward onto the bed.
It was fluffy and soft.
“I think the sheet’s a genuine 1000 thread count too. Maybe I could make a proper cape out of this, huh?”
“It is absolutely fascinating that humans sleep on such luxury.”
“The lucky ones sleep on such luxury! But I do appreciate bedsheets after going without for so long.”
Her attention was shortening by the moment, as she rolled off the most comfortable place in existence to peek around a door.
“The ensuite!!” she squealed. “Oh Xant, you have to see what a real bathroom looks like!”
If the master bedroom was the most comfortable place in the world, then the ensuite was the most ornate. Xant couldn’t even identify what half the items were in the room, but they apparently all pertained to the simple act of grooming.
Long, wide mirrors lined one entire side of the room, double marble basins and chrome taps sat beneath them. Frosted glass windows, a bath big enough to fit four and a bidet decorated with gold made up the rest of the fixtures. Jasmine once again began rummaging through the shelves, making happy noises with every new discovery.
“Xant, hold out your hand!”
The doctor reluctantly did so, and Jasmine placed a small white blob in it. “Smell it!!” she insisted, fever in her eyes.
He took a quick and wary sniff, but the burning sensation he expected never came.
A fresh and vibrant perfume filled his senses, a sweetness he’d never known.
“It's jasmine hand cream! This is what my namesake smells like!” She dotted her entire arms with the cream and rubbed it into her skin.
“A moisturizer?”
“Yes! And here’s shampoo and conditioner, for hair, moisturizer, face cream, body wash, exfoliant, oh god please, oh please let the water be running!”
She dived for the taps to the bath, wrenching the handle as hard and as fast as it would go, but to no avail.
“Noooo,” she sobbed, hanging her head. “S’pose it was too good to be true, the water in the tanks would be dry…”
Xant curiously looked over the bathtub and jasmine could feel his freq overflowing with curiosity.
“So humans clean themselves in still water?”
“Well, soaking in the tub is fun, it's not exclusively how we clean ourselves, the shower is better for that.”
“So what is the difference between a human shower and our own?”
Jasmine pulled a disgruntled face.
“It’s the difference between a warm gentle rain and a cold pressure hose!” she exclaimed. “Oh, I wonder if we could get it running again…?” She absent mindedly lifted up a wicker basket, finding a few clothes the previous owners had left behind. “So, what do you think?” she asked, lifting a floral summer dress up over her figure.
“The patterns are beautiful, but, is it a cape?”
“No, it’s a dress! Hmmm, but I’d have to lose a few kilos for it to fit.”
“I beg your pardon?”
“Well, I’m a little bit bigger than the supermodel who stayed on this boat, but nothing a few weeks of exercise and diet couldn’t fix. Since there’s no junk food I really don’t have the excuse.”
“Are you not already in optimal condition?”
“Pfffft! No, god no.” She pulled at her stomach fat playfully. “Too much good food and junk food makes for chunky humans.”
“Junk food?”
Jasmine grinned ear to ear.
“Junk food, food that holds almost no nutritional value but is all about taste, glorious morsels of sugar, salt and colour dye.”
“There’s a chance sugar could be found aboard this vessel? We’d need to destroy it if there is any intact, its addictive nature can destroy a Sulins inhibition perminately.”
“Well if it’s going to be anywhere on the ship, it’ll be in the kitchen!”
They headed down to the bottom decks and stepped into a stainless steel wonderland. Jasmine was in her element, running her hand over the many pieces of specialised equipment as Xant watched on in wonder.
They found a perfectly polished kitchen, filled to the brim with human utensils, and all of it for the sole use of producing food. Jasmine lifted a book from the floor and brought it over to Xant.
“Here, this is what human food is supposed to look like.”
The graphical fidelity of the pictures was phenomenal, given that they weren’t on a computer screen, but the colours and shapes didn’t even seem similar to what he knew as ‘food’. He had seen sculptures that didn’t have dimensions nearly as interesting as those of the consumables depicted, and there was page after page of them, dish after dish, each one a work of art.
She showed him the variety of knives on display and the stupid amount of cutlery for eating said food. This was an entire industry to these people, the production and skill devoted to it was…
Garish.
Jasmine stood before a giant set of doors, her hands hovering over the handles.
“This is a refrigerator, we keep perishable goods inside… I wonder if anything is still…”
She jerked open the doors and they were both greeted with the foulest stench. The rotting and liquefied remains of meat and vegetables slopped onto the floor. Sealed inside the fridge, the smell had fermented to overpowering levels.
“Air!” Jasmine shouted as she scrambled past Xant. “I need air!”
They ran up several stairs to escape the toxic gas and were able to breathe a sigh of relief once above deck. They appeared to have come out the other side, more couches and pools littering the area Jasmine made her way across to get to the bow of the ship.
She walked to its peak, then climbed over the safety railing to hold the spearhead.
Puffing out her chest and throwing her arms open, she proclaimed for the entire engineering wing to hear,
“I’M ON A BOAT, I’M ON A BOAT! TAKE A GOOD HARD LOOK AT THE MOTHER FUCKING BOAT!”
An echo of uproarious laughter soon followed suit, a joke Xant wasn’t privy to, then Jasmine climbed back to join him.
“You know, I think I’m done for the moment. I need a break from all this excitement…”
She flopped herself down on one of the sunbeds, and Xant stood over her.
“Jasmine, I’ve been meaning to ask...”
“Go ahead?”
“All of this, it’s wonderful, but it’s nothing like the memory you shared with me. All this is pure opulence. Your memory was far more humble and comforting…”
“Well, that’s because this is a superyacht, and not a lower-income one bedroom apartment…” The human shrugged.
“So, what measure of wealth allows people to live such drastically different lives?”
“... I, dunno know, they're mostly owners of companies, corporations, kings, queens, people who run economies…”
“What expertise defines their worth to be that much more than yours?” Xant asked pointedly.
Jasmine faltered for an answer. While she could throw around words like investment portfolios and trust funds, she didn't actually understand the system as well as she would have liked.
“They study finance, have rich parents, inherited gold mines…luck, I guess? There’s many different ways to get there.”
“So, every human has the chance to attain this level of contribution credit?”
“No…”
“That doesn’t seem fair,” Xant remarked, finally lying down beside her. Jasmine stared up at the steel enclosed ceiling, reflecting.
“No it’s not, but it’s getting better,” she replied. “Slowly but surely, it's getting better.”

Did I just find a “Cheap” 187 Part 2: Electric Boogaloo – Beige Trendy GHW from WD Factory via TS Redden

Cover Photo
Disclosure: This was reviewed with no incentives - I did not receive any money off, nor did I get anything for reviewing this trendy.
Y’all, I’m sick. Not in a 🤙 sickkkk bruhhh, radical my dudeeee 🤙 kinda way, I’m literally SICK of 2020. It’s been a year, and I’m so ready for it to be over. It has seriously tested a bitch. I’ve literally been sat with a glass of cheap prosecco in hand, practicing my rendition of Auld Lang Syne, waiting to cheer in 2021 for a solid month now.
To celebrate me getting through 2020 without panic-giving myself quarantine bangs, not resorting to watching Tiger King for the fifth time, and generally not losing the will to live, I thought eff it, treat yoself. And this tall glass of water appeared on redden’s moments, and I was in LOVE (chorus: ˢʰᵉ ʷᵃˢ ᶦⁿ ˡᵒᵛᵉᵉᵉᵉ). While we all love a discrete, subtle flex (looking at you Celine Box), the Trendy CC has that massive, fuck-off ‘Chanel’ panel on the top. She says to hell with subtly. Fuck being demure. In homage to Chad Michaels, she'd say, "I’M CHANEL, BITCH". And, with the sheer ostentatiousness of the trendy, I had to have her.
A few months back, I recently tried out the unheard of ‘FY’ factory for a Chanel CF, which turned out to be amazing quality for the price paid. So in the interest of science and taking one for the team, ya homegirl tested out another unknown factory, WD. It’s what the people want. Don't say I'm not good to ya.
So did WD factory well and truly smash my wig in a million shards and I'm currently on my hands and knees trying to pick up the pieces, or was it a total flop?

Quality: 10/10
YOU GUYS. THE LEATHER. Oh my gosh, the squishhhhh of the lambskin is to freakin' die for. You can tell this is an extremely well-made bag. The stitching is really impressive too - I've not noticed any loose thread, and the colour of the thread matches beautifully with the leather. The hardware too has a beautiful heft to it as well; you can tell that no corners were cut here. While there was a liiiiil bit of fufu when she came out of the packaging, as soon as I got hit with that chemical stank, it was gone. Having let her breathe while I showed her round her new forever home, she now has this beautiful leathery scent. Kinda like a new car... And I'm into it. Overall, I'm really, really impressed with WD factory so far, I SEE U GIRL
Accuracy: 9.5/10
While I've never even seen an auth trendy IRL never mind holding one, I've compared the lambskin of my auth jumbo CF, and they both have the same smoothness and texture. It feels like running your hand down satin. So. Freakin'. Soft. Beige is notoriously difficult to rep, however she has that beautiful milk-tea, slightly pink-y shade that the auth has. Likewise, that oh-so-famous maroon interior leather is the identical shade to my auth CF. The dimensions are also all correct - like the auth, she's 17.2cm x 25cm x 12.5cm. Her shape is also super accurate as well - in particular, the compartment 'pockets' lie flush, whereas I've seen some trendy reps that almost 'flair out' at the bottom. The inner stamping is pretty much identical to my CF's stamping - same thickness and font. The mona-lisa smile back pocket is EVER so slightly slanted, but I'm not takin any points off, as it's been reiterated before, even the auths suffer from misalignment issues, so it still passes the vibe check. Also, the font on the inside-clasp...thingy (honestly, wtf is this thing called?) ain't it sis - it's too thin when comparing it to the same thing in my auth CF. So, a really, really mean -.5, but let's face it, 1) no one will be IN my bag to see this, and 2) no one fucking cares tbh. Side note: The trendy also came with a roledex worth of paper-work lmao. I'm not sure what to do with it, but it made me feel boogie as hell, so thanks WD factory. I'll read it while I'm avoiding eye contact with my work responsibilities or something.
Satisfaction: 10/10
I mean, considering the the auth costs well over £4000 and the fact I got this for less than 5% of the retail price, I am over the bloody MOON with my new baby. Given that COVID has shot any chances of me to flex on the pores outside my house, I'll be fine flexing on myself while I work-from-home in my pjs loool. But when COVID is over, it's game over for them bitches.
WD factory is no joke, y'all. If you're in the market for a trendy, I can't recommend them enough. Considering a 187 trendy goes for £350 upwards, I can safely say that yes, this is absolutely a cheap 187. Not trying to be your hypeman, but JUST BUY ONE YOU WON'T REGRET IT GORL
Seller: 10/10
Y'all are going to become so friggin' bored of me being nauseatingly sycophantic over Redden, but she really is the queen bee of reps. She works insanely long hours for us buyers, and I just wish I could let her know how much I'm grateful for her without coming across weird, creepy and/or stalkerish. Like sometimes I think, "man, I just wanna take her out to brunch and get day drunk". And honestly her emoji game is the best in the game. I mean, Mona Lisa shooting an "a-ok" absolutely kills me every time she uses it. This one's for u Redden, u da bestest. You keep me lookin' fresh to deathhhh <3
Hope all you ladies, gents and every shade in between have a great Xmas and I hope Santa/ ya fam/friends/sugar daddies spoil ya rotten ✌️ u know u love me, xoxo Sequelae123

[Review] Chanel Quilted small trendy top handle bag/DHGATE

I just want to preface that this is my first review and I only dove into the rep world about a month ago. Take my review with a grain of salt as I am a 25 year old medical student with lots of school debt and have never been inside a designer boutique except for a Kate Spade outlet lol.
Disclosure - none
DHGATE seller store link link to bag I had originally purchased (blue color, 24 cm) I am not sure if there is a link for the bag I ended up with, message the seller if you want to purchase directly though!
$45 for the bag, $3.73 shipping via china post, paid via dhgate app with credit card
Order timeline: purchased a blue top handle chanel replica on October 6, informed by seller that they were out of the color I purchased and he allowed me to pick a similar chanel bag from his inventory (the red is the color I initially wanted anyway). Bag arrived today, October 31 in Queens NY from Ningbo.
Auth: chanel top handle in black top handle red

Photos

my photos my photos part 2 ***no psp Factory photo: red

**Quality - 8.5/10

Bag got a little smushed in the bottom corners in transit but stuffing it for a few days will smooth it out (-0.5). The handle doesn't really stand up on its own and is bent to one side probably due to the wrapping in transit (-1). Front lock and inside zipper are nice and smooth. Outside of bag feels really soft and the quilts are nice and puffy. Pretty sure the bag is lined with cardboard, but I am not rough on my bags so I don't mind. I wasn't expecting 187 quality for under $50 anyway. The quilts line up decently on the front flap and back pocket which I was not expecting for the price. The chain lays flat and does not kink. No smell or loose threads that I can notice. I don't know what real leather should smell like, but I doubt that's what it is considering the price point. Not mad at all though.

Accuracy - 9.5/10

The only deductions I can make with my untrained eyes are for the slight color difference in the gold hardware (-0.5) as well as the batch code stamp missing from the inside (-0.5 because who is looking in my bag and I wouldn't resell as authentic). Visually there are no missed seams and even the bottom of the bag has a seam down the middle like the auth. The shape of the bag and flap shape look the same to me. The ends of the chain have Chanel printed in the hardware. Chanel made in paris is stamped in the right spot and inside zipper has cc logo. Bag is 6.5 cm x 10.25 cm which is VERY close to the 6.5 cm x 10.5 cm auth dimensions. It even has the tiny lipstick pocket in the front and all inner pockets are same as the auth.

Satisfaction - 10/10

I am in love with how the bag looks and will be rocking it with pride. I live in New York City, but none of my friends or family wear Chanel.

Seller Communication and Service - 10/10

The seller was quick to let me know he had no more of the bag that I wanted and graciously let me choose a different bag from his selection of similar styles. Bag was wrapped in bubble wrap a little too tightly as as the corners got a bit smushed, but I am not too upset about it. This bag had no reviews on dhgate but I am super glad I took the risk.
For under $50-$80 I have not been afraid to take a chance on DHGate sellers with minimal reviews and sales. I know in this game a lot of sellers can get shut down and have to start up again. I usually send a message to the seller first asking for pictures and if they can provide, I'm willing to give it a go. I got a gorgeous Prada Cahier in white and black from a seller with like 100 sales and no reviews. PSA don't spend money you're not willing to lose and if you're not overly picky (at an inexpensive price point at least) you'll have a good time!
I have a bunch of other rep bags I got off dhgate as well as a Prada reedition 2005 in beige from TS Alisa if anyone would be interested in my newbie reviews. We all have to start somewhere and it's about having fun and feeling cute!

CHANEL Aged Calfskin Quilted 2.55 Reissue 225 Flap Black GHW 187 Factory-When you are not sure if a high tier is worth the $

Edit to add: Cover Photo

Photos

I must have read most if not all the reviews on RL on the reissue. Thank you for everyone who wrote informative and educational posts to share their findings and experiences.
I have studied factory photos of all the reissues reps ever made before going back to the good old trusted 187. I know that some of you had flawed misalignment from 187 depending on which size and print (chevron VS diamonds) but I didn’t have that issue with mine.
I went as far as messaging some of you (thank you for all your inputs!) whom have purchased this bag to find out if you would opt for a mid tier if you were to repurchase the bag. All of you said yes!
I already own a mid-tier 227 in Black with RHW from Panda Factory so I have taken some comparison photos for you. I will also comment whether or not a higher tier in the reissue is worth the price difference if you are debating on the same thing.

Quality - Rating 10/10

I don’t think I need to say much. It’s a 187 bag so the quality is really good. Construction, craftsmanship & finishing of the leather, stitching and hardware all very well done. The weight of the bag is substantial but not heavy. No fufu smell but a hint of new handbag smell from the leather. The reissue is a full leather handbag with leather lining in a contrasting burgundy. No edge paint or piping on a reissue. The lining does not sit tight on the bottom of them bag because you can fold the bottom flat like a milk carton.

Accuracy - Rating 9/10

There are so few things to make a reissue accurate but somehow it’s so hard to get them all. I think I just got lucky.

What to look for:

-Alignment of the quilting. 1. It has symmetrical and a even diamond quilting pattern. The edge of the flap matches the front bottom piece leather in a continuous fashion. See front and back photos of bag . 2 Back pocket alignment also matches in a continuous fashion.
-Level of distress of the leather and the puffiness on the diamonds
-Back pocket height is correct (which my 187 CF jumbo didn’t get right. See review here
-Back pocket Mona Lisa smile has the right amount of curvature
-Overall shape correct, (-0.5) for a slightly longer drop on the shoulder chain link. From my research, the years have variations in the drop length too so I’m not 100% sure.
Authentic dimensions from Fashionphile Length: 9.5 in Width: 3 in Height: 6 in Drop: 10.5 in
187 dimensions: Length: 9.5 in Width: 3 in Height: 6 in Drop: 11.5 in
I am a rep bag QC queen but not a picky person. I don’t stress over heat stamps, engravings or fonts too much as long as it is close enough. For the sake of the review I will take half a point off because those are the minute differences to an auth. (-0.5) Chanel foil stamp too thick and deep

Satisfaction - Rating 10/10

This is where I’ll comment on when you should spend the extra money for the high tier.
Price-A higher tier like 187 or GF cost around $170-200USD extra which could fund another bag in the rep world. If your goal is quantity and not quality than a mid tier is your answer. If you have an unlimited budget than go high tier.
Accuracy-Both factories have the details done really well. It’s the material that you are paying extra for not the craftsmanship. 187 has obviously better leather that photos may not capture. You can see in the comparison photos that the Mid-tier one have a duller sheen. To me personally, I like to try different factories to see what I prefer.
Side note: Linda recommended CD Factory, which I have seen some very accurate factory photos of the reissue. They have a large selection of Chanels.
TL;DR: Buy the high tier if you want the best material but there is not much difference in craftsmanship and accuracy from mid tier in the reissue.

Seller Communication and Service - Rating 10/10

This is my third time buying from Linda. She always reply quickly and she is lovely to deal with. With all the parcel delays due to Covid-19. I still have 3 bags I have ordered last year (non TS) that are somewhere on the Pacific Ocean. GO WITH A TS, going with anyone else is not worth it. I said it, I’m going to be good from now on and stick with TS no matter how much cheaper it is. It’s better to pay more and actually get your items.
Thanks for reading!

Measurement Advice for First Quilt!!

I am trying to make a queen sized quilt with simple squares for my first project.
What size should the squares be and how many should I need?
I’m having trouble finding a pattern online to help me with this. Maybe I’m just looking in the wrong places.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

Sewing Machine Shopping - Juki TL-2000Qi vs -2010Q vs Brother PQ1500SL

My Christmas present from my parents last year was supposed to be a new sewing machine, specifically with the intention of getting more throat space to quilt Full or Queen size quilts. Right now I end up doing piecing the tops, basting them, and then just putting them away for "someday when I learn how to FMQ." I think that my Brother CS6000i is just not the ideal machine for quilting larger projects, and I don't really make small quilts. (Note: I have made numerous quilts previously, but finished almost all of them by tying with yarn, and I'd really like to be able to add dimension and designs to my quilts with the quilting itself.)
I've still not narrowed my choices down over 3 months later. It seems like everyone loves their Jukis, and if money were no object I think the TL-2010Q would fit my needs nicely. Since money is an object (I think the intended budget was more around $500-600 than $1000), I was curious to hear from anyone who owned the 2000 specifically how much the lack of speed control affected you. I know there are a few other differences, but that's the main one that concerns me.
I also see a fair number of good reviews for the Brother PQ1500SL, but mixed in with those are some that suggest it's a somewhat fiddly machine to get the hang of. Of course, the most likely people to write reviews are those who strongly loved it or hated it. I want something to do fairly simple FMQ on large quilts easily, not have to constantly fight with the machine to save a hundred bucks.
I'm also wondering if maybe I should wait until the current shelter-in-place order is lifted and try to test some of these out at a quilting shop. The Juki dealer nearest me has a lot of awful reviews, but I could look for one and drive a bit if it's a $600-1000 investment I'm considering. As much as I want to order something that gets here and allows me to finish some projects before this isolation period ends, I also want to make sure I don't make a hasty decision I regret as soon as I start working on the first quilt.
Any input would be very welcome!

[REVIEW] Chanel CF 25cm M/L, Black GHW, 187 King Caviar, Heidi GB

Book incoming. I sincerely apologize. NOT! XD

Info

Timeline

Photos
My standard is this auth comparison provided by a fellow replady as well as several other sources online. I will say that 187 has improved their accuracy since the above pictures were taken in March this year. I had to really, reaaaalllly look on purpose to find any "mistakes", and to be honest some of the points I'm dinging are totally arbitrary.
Caveat: I do not have an auth next to me to do a side by side comparison so maybe there are other inaccuracies that I haven't seen. That being said, even auths vary slightly from year to year so I doubt these are problems that can't be passed off as a "seasonal discrepancy".

Quality – 9.25/10

Accuracy 9.5/10, and this is after I'm being mean

Satisfaction – 100/10
This was my very first rep and I'm sooo impressed. Actually, this is my very first luxury good in general. I've seen luxury bags belonging to other people before but never bought one. And yes, I count this rep as a luxury bag. Even if it's a rep, it's a high-tier rep that cost me close to $600, which is as much as an auth Gucci. In my mind, this one is not simply "as good as" the real thing, it is the real thing.
I've brought it into Bloomingdale's, Saks, etc. and let me tell you I could feel the crowds of people parting before me like the sea before Moses. I was treated like a queen. Or maybe they were treating me normally but I certainly felt like a queen, haha. Although I've had strangers do the impressed "ooh, that's the purse I want someday" thing to me. Maybe that's just the general way the designer purse community views Chanel or Hermes.
As for the purse itself, it serves me well. This is less of a rep thing and more of the general Chanel design. I'm pretty minimalist so this size is perfect for what I need to carry. The interior of this purse is actually pretty tiny though. Here's what fits in each part.
The caviar is nice and sturdy, and the chain is the perfect drop length for single shoulder carry but a little too short for crossbody (I'm 5'3"). The only thing I find slightly annoying is that the flap on new bags is a little hard to open at first, but I suppose that's a tradeoff I'm willing to live with if it thicker leather and better structure for my bag.

Seller Communication and Service – 10/10
Heidi was so nice and responsive. I'm afraid I was one of those annoying customers; I kept asking her for extra photos in my PSPs and we went back and forth a couple times. But she never complained or got annoyed and always gave me what I asked for.
I know many people had trouble getting ahold of her and were waiting days for a reply but I never had that problem. She always responded to me within a few days. Sometimes immediately. I will say that I rarely initiated contact with her. The first time was when I was placing my order, the second time when I asked her if the payment went through. I mostly communicated via Outlook email. I also made sure to time my emails and WeChat messages – I'd send them based on China time (between 10am–2pm over there), not my time.
I also greatly appreciated her packaging. She wrapped the whole box in styrofoam and wrapped that in several layers of tape. The box arrived undamaged and beautiful. I also greatly appreciated the provided Chanel packaging, with the magnetic box, the shopping bag, the dust bag, ribbon, flower, the info cards and booklets, everything. I didn't research the authenticity and accuracy of the packaging much, and frankly I don't care. The fact that they're providing this stuff at all to give me the full experience makes me so happy. If I got this from 187 or a real Chanel boutique I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Ageless: Chapter 54

Start from the beginning | Next Chapter | Previous Chapter | Story Index
“I think,” Alynsa said, in between bites of apple, “that this is Helgefast Manor.”
We sat hidden in the shade of elms, looking out over the southern edge of the Zomnus Plains. A plantation sprawled down below us, a patchwork quilt of different types of crops fields -- green, yellow, brown, then a row of trees marking an orchard, one square after the other, checker-boarding the gently sloping hills.
Alynsa and I had discovered the plantation earlier that day and spent the afternoon picking as much as we could carry from the lush crop fields. Now a horde of stolen apples, plums, potatoes, leeks, tomatoes and corn sat piled between us, as we gorged on our feast.
A few feet away, Pretty Tom slumbered. Some of the color had returned to Tom’s face, though the trek across the plain had drained him of his energy. He snored softly, surrounded by a pile of cornhusks and fruit cores, as Alynsa and I plotted our next destination.
Past the crop fields, the manor house stood on the far side, a sturdy two-storied stone building surrounded by high stone walls. Inside the walls, we could make out the thatched roof of a stable. A stable meant horses, and horses meant getting to safety faster.
“How do you know that?” I finished gnawing at the ear of corn in my hand, then tossed it behind me. “Thought you said you’ve never been here before.”
“The Helge family used to be a bannermen for my father. He was a king, after all.” She peered out at the high walls of the manor, off in the distance. “When the Highburns turned on my family to support the usurper Malstrom, lots of powerful families followed them in exchange for land and power. They rewarded scheming liars like Lord Helge with plantations like this for abandoning the oaths they made to my family.”
“So they’re loyal to the Highburns, then?”
Alynsa spit a seed into the grass. “Those little weasels only support themselves. They could give two shits about kings or queens or angels. Lord Helge only cares about the land he’s stolen, and the Highburns are the family that legitimized his theft. If his men were to find us, they’d turn us back to the Highburns faster than a city guardsman accepts a bribe.”
It was odd discussing betrayals so nonchalantly with someone that regarded me as a usurper. From the day I had arrived at the palace, Alynsa had been nothing if not hostile. I associated her presence with withering glares, uncomfortable silences, and sudden drops in temperature.
But the Alynsa currently stuffing her face with a raw potato was nothing like the woman that used to leer at me as we passed one another in the palace corridors. I stared at her, suspicious, as she hummed softly to herself.
This version of Alynsa seemed much more...upbeat.
It made no sense, considering how much worse her position had gotten since I had last seen her. Her enemies had taken everything from her. Her freedom, her power, her beauty, her family; everything ripped away in nightmarish fashion.
Eventually, curiosity got the best of me.
"Alynsa..." I said uncertainly, "can I ask you few questions?"
She shrugged. "Go on."
"First, how did you end up in a Highburn prison?"
She took another bite of her potato, spitting the skin into the grass. "Nadia’s men had arrested me shortly after you were pronounced dead, under the accusation that she had conspired with Hendrik to commit regicide."
"And that worked? What about your guards? They didn't protect you?"
"It was a coup," she said, "disguised as an investigation into your death. The Highbitch packed her entire army into the city, to help 'track down those involved in the crime'. All the Royal Guards charged with keeping the peace between Malstrom and me were out on the walls, watching the Broken Prince’s army. When her men came for me, I didn’t even resist. She had numbers, and I only had my house guard. They would have all been slaughtered, had I ordered them to fight back.”
“And how did Malstrom react to the Highburns acting so brazenly without his consent?”
“The False King doesn't really react to anything, these days. Malstrom was already consumed by a deep depression, his awareness of his kingdom ending at the walls of his bedroom. I had been locked in chains and whisked out of the capital before he even realized that I was gone.”
“What happened to your niece? Did Nadia capture her too?”
“Raelyn's safe, thank the First." As she said her nieces's name, her gaze fell to the ground. "When the Highburns came for us, I sacrificed myself to buy enough time for my most trusted retainer to smuggle her out of the city. Nadia nearly tore her fake face to ribbons when she discovered that the child escaped.” She laughed, but it felt forced, as if to cover the waver of sadness that had crept into her voice.
Sensing it was time to change the topic, I asked the one question burning a hole in mind. “Hendrik. Was he spying for you?”
Her green eyes lit up at the mention of his name. “I think you already know the answer to that question,” she answered airily, “because I’ve already told you.”
Maybe I did, but I still needed to hear it. “You were telling the truth?”
She nodded. “Hen was the best spy I’ve ever had. He was watching you like a hawk, at my command.”
Even though I had sensed it coming, the betrayal punched me in the gut. I looked down at my feet, stunned. "Fucking asshole."
“Oh, don’t act so naive,” Alynsa said calmly, patting me on the shoulder. “Everyone in the royal court has been stabbed in the back at least once. I would be wearing a crown right now if I hadn’t been shafted by those I depended on. It's practically a right of passage.”
“Did…” I hesitated, unsure if I should finish my thought. In the end, my curiosity was too great to silence. “Did you order him to seduce me?”
Alynsa blinked. “No. The way Hendrik told it, it was you that came onto him."
"Of course he did."
She laughed. "I certainly didn’t mind having a bit of extra dirt on you.” Her smile was gone, and for a second I thought a saw a flash of sympathy in her eyes. “What’s wrong? Having second thoughts about going back to save your dear bard’s life now?”
I didn’t have an answer to that. I didn't have an answer to anything in this stupid place.
"Well?" Alynsa asked. "Are you still going back to the capital?"
"I don't...yes...I have to."
“No, you don't. There is no such thing as a true friend in this kingdom. Not for us, at least. Everyone wants to use us for something, and the only decisions we can make is which ones are useful enough to keep around. Hendrik's use has expired. Let him rot.”
"You're almost as bad as Nadia."
"Almost," Alynsa said, and her lips curled up into a grin.
I had to admit, Alynsa had a point, though that didn’t make it sting any less. From now on, I wouldn’t trust anyone in this kingdom. No one except Malcolm...if he even was still alive.
It was all a lie, I told myself, over and over, hoping the words would sink into my thick skull. Lies, lies, lies.
Hendrik's betrayal lingered in my mind as I ate. Memories of him replayed in my head, now different in light of the new revelations.
“You’ve gone awfully quiet,” Alynsa observed, wiping bits of food off her mouth. She stood up, offering me her hand. “No more questions for me?”
“Nope.”
“Okay." She paused. "You’re not angry about the bard, are you?”
I glared at her.
There was a glint of amusement in her green eyes. “What? You have something to say?”
“It's not about freaking Hendrik,” I snapped. “It's about you.”
She raised an eyebrow. “What about me, angel?”
“You don’t make any sense.”
“Why’s that?”
“Don’t you call me a usurper? Don’t you blame me for all that’s happened to you? Don’t you know that we’re supposed to be enemies?”
“I wouldn’t say that.”
“Yes, you would. Stop playing dumb.”
“Okay,” she admitted. “I’ll concede it’s a rather accurate summary of your actions. I don't suppose you want to take this opportunity to apologize, do you?”
“There’s a very angry prince with an army outside the walls of the capital that wants to chop off Malstrom’s head and name your niece a queen, and he would kill to get his hands on me. And I'm supposed to believe you're ignoring all that because you want to be my friend?”
Alynsa nodded. “If you were in my position, what would you do?”
“I’d be rushing north too, to join up with Prince Janis and the rest of his revolution. He’s fighting against your enemies, in the name of your sister. Imagine if you showed up to his camp with me as your prisoner. He’d welcome you with open arms.”
“Would you rather I did that?” Her mask of bandages stretched as her smile widened. “Perhaps you’ve just doomed yourself.”
“I doubt that. What’s your play here? Why aren’t you running for his camp?”
She shrugged. “There’s a simple truth you are ignoring -- Janis is an idiot. Hitching myself to anyone attempting to siege the capital is suicidal, at best."
"He has a chance. I wouldn't exactly call Malstrom a master tactician."
"The usurper's commanders are competent enough to hold the city. What's his top captain's name...Drexel something? He's more clever than he let's on, though you'd never guess it from his dumb face. And his other general, Stone, was practically raised in a command tent. Janis and his untamed pack of mutts don't stand a chance in an assault. His best bet is trying to starve them out." She laughed. "Anyhow, I prefer to sit back and let my enemies kill each other."
“Bullshit. Janis is not your enemy. He loved your sister. He sees you as an ally.”
“He sees me as a threat, and he never cared for my sister. Nor does he care about his sister, nor his daughter. The bastard only cares for himself and the vengeance that consumes him.”
“He still has an army. You two could marry. It would make for a powerful alliance.”
“With this face?” Alynsa glared at me through her bandages. “Janis will want a beautiful queen, not an abomination.”
“He wouldn’t be the first noble in this country with a political marriage. Never seems to stop them from screwing anything that moves on the side.”
“True,” Alynsa conceded, “though you have a lot to learn about me, Jillian, if you think I’d ever turn my sister’s daughter over to the dullard prince and his psychopath of a sister.” Her voice was icy, filled with cold anger. “There was a reason why I chose to remain at my sister's side in the palace, even as our enemies closed in on us.”
“Why?”
“Because Isabelle and I chose peace with Malstrom. It was our father’s dying wish. Prince Janis, the arrogant prick that he was, wanted a war. He was determined to humiliate the usurper, so he used my sister as a pawn to achieve his goal. He seduced her. He manipulated her. He willingly endangered her. And now she's dead.” She spat. “I hate him. I hate him, and I hope with all my heart that he dies at the walls of the capital. Do you understand?”
“Yeah. Okay.”
“And his sister...she's even worse than him.” She gave a humorless laugh. “Have you ever heard the stories they tell about Alejandra Janis?”
“No. What do they say about her?”
“Oh, just your standard, run of the mill rumors -- mainly that Saint Aleja the Cruel is one of the last practicing necromancers in Lentempia.”
"Necromancy...is that a real thing?"
"It's a quack science. But that never stopped her from digging up corpses at the graveyard and smuggling them down to the palace basement to play with.”
“Well, she sounds lovely.”
“Yes. There is something wrong with that family." She shivered. “So I'm staying clear of that entire shitstorm.” She looked out to the south, past the plantation. “In the meantime, I’m going to find my niece.”
“Fair enough,” I said. “But you can’t seriously expect me to help you with all that. I have my own problems to address, and they all lie back in the capital.”
“Jillian…” Alynsa said slowly, rising to her feet. “There's another path to all this."
"What does that mean?"
"Listen, I know it hurts...losing Hendrik." Alynsa's tone dropped. "The bard and I had a complicated relationship. We were also close, in a way. I know it pained him...that I forced him to spy on you. In time, he grew to hate me for it.” She looked away, and I could feel her growing embarrassed. “Anyways, he once told me that of all those living in the palace, I should try to make an ally of you. He advised me to look past all my hatred, because I would need someone level-headed and rational at my side, if I was save this kingdom from itself. He was really fond if you, it seemed.” She offered her hand to me. “Perhaps I can’t save him. But I can still honor his last wish.”
I remained stationary, her hand hanging in the air. “What are you proposing?”
“You want to go home right? To your other dimension?"
I stared back at her. "That's right."
"Then lay low with me, let our enemies slaughter one another. Once they've exhausted each other, we'll return to the capital, together, with an army of our own. Afterwards, we'll find your portal back home.” She stared at me, her green eyes shining. “I would never form an alliance with Janis. He can burn in hell. But I would make an alliance with you.”
“You are aware that all my power comes from Malstrom, right? Abandoning him means abandoning my power. I won't bring you any support.”
“People say you’re an Ageless,” Alynsa said. “And that you’re an angel. An angel that has now defied death now, living in a country dominated by the pious. Your titles carry more weight in this kingdom than you might realize.” Her smile warmed, and for the first time since meeting her, I wanted to trust Alysna. "Come on, Jillian. Our people shouldn't have to choose between Janis and Malstrom. They should have a third option."
I looked down at her outstretched hand, contemplating, feeling my eyes burning slightly at the edges. Then, slowly, I reached out and shook it.

Cecilia

Cecilia the Disowned -- first commander of Prince Janis’ army -- sat near the camp-fire, surrounded by men she trusted with her life.
Far beyond the endless roofs of tents flapping the wind, above the chipped city walls, the towering spire of the Royal Palace stood defiantly, looking down over them all.
It dared them to try to ram down its doors. It dared them to drag out the False King hiding within its thick stone walls. It dared them to grab their blades and charge at the bright lights of the city, towards their prize, looming just out of reach.
It dared them to rush to their deaths like lemmings.
The faces of her captains glowed in the firelight, the features of their faces accentuated by the long shadows they cast.
Sitting across from her was Robert Hardwell, a fearless man that had banged his shield against hers to form a wall when they had been charged by the hordes that defended Hutan Fortress. Behind that thin barrier of wood, they had hacked and slashed and stabbed and killed together, two souls simultaneously infected with the delirious high that only bloodlust can bring.
Next to him sat Cameron Black, a quiet young man with a knack for peppering the battlefield with poisoned arrows. His battalion of archers had provided cover for her vanguard during the ambush of the Highburn battalions. After the battle, she had given him a necklace made of solid gold for keeping her alive. He wore it that night, and promised to wear into every battle thereafter until one claimed his life.
Back in the shadows of the circle, Ella Trenne ran a whetstone down the length of her blade, again and again, the rasp of metal a comforting sound that blended into the spit and crackle of the campfire. This would be Ella’s first battle, but her hand was steady as she moved the stone carefully across her weapon, her nerves and resolve set. She had fled the city to join Janis’ army not a month ago. Her father had spoken out against the False King, and one of Malstrom’s Noble Shepherds had run the man through the stomach with a sword. There was hatred in the young woman’s eyes, and hatred was a valuable commodity to carry into a battle. It could fuel a soldier to keep fighting when everything else was lost.
All familiar faces. Faces that would die for her, and that she would die for in turn. Everyone, except for him.
Where was Prince Janis?
Of those she had fought alongside in her life, no man had ever fought with such unbridled tenacity, such disregard for his own life, even though his blood was noble and his death could snuff out the fires of their rebellion into smoldering cinders. It was the Broken Prince that inspired these men, the man that had everything and had lost it all, the dead soul trapped in a living man’s body.
Yet there his men sat, looking up at their towering final destination, and he had not been seen for days.
Cecilia stood up, shaking out her legs. Robert Hardwell’s face shot upward, his thick neck tensing, and gave her a questioning glance.
“Be right back,” she said, walking towards the dark tents lying behind the islands of light shining from the campfires.
Rows and rows of tents, stretching down King’s Valley. They were dirty patchwork rags, coming apart at the stitches as the wind whipped and tugged at them. A beggar’s army, as the False King was so quick to remind them.
Still, the numbers were undeniable. What had started as a disgraced fool screaming into the wind was now the biggest threat that the Malstrom Regime had ever seen.
Her armor was polished and shined obsidian, like black water under a pale moon. The sword resting in her scabbard was so sharp that you could draw blood just by hovering a finger over its edge. And her hatred was raw and fresh -- she wanted nothing more to flay the False King alive. Cecilia had been waiting for this battle over a month now. This was what she was born to do.
Some of the other guards were starting to lose their patience. They grumbled of food shortages, of wasting time, but Janis was clever. Here in King’s valley, there were forests to hunt, orchards to pillage. The army would remain well-fed while the False King and his people starved. Malstrom could always flee the capital by boat, but if he did that, moral would break and then the city would fall, and he might as well toss his crown into the ocean.
The giantess walked further towards the outskirts of the camp, away from the warmth of smoke and huddled bodies, and out towards the empty, trampled valley.
Behind the city of tents, the siege equipment was all assembled and ready, thin dark shadows poking up from the cities of tents, standing guard as silent sentinels. Battering rams, wheeled catapults and trebuchets, ballistas, great ladders, siege towers, all freshly carved from the timber of the National Forest.
Hundred of hours we toiled on these tools of war, Cecilia thought, looking up at them. And the Hellhound from the South could burn them all to ashes in a matter of minutes.
She had heard the whispers amongst the men, that Cayno Belin would be waiting for them at the city walls. There was a handful of farmers in her battalion that had fought in the Southland disputes, and they served as evidence that there was much to fear of the mage; most of the veterans had gruesome burns and deformities to show for it. A few even claimed to have faced down Cayno in battle before fleeing. One such veteran looked like the right side of his face had melted in on itself, and another could only speak in wheezing gasps. Both had requested to take up back lines of the assault.
“For a pyromancer, stamina is key,” the veteran with the melted face had once explained to Cecilia. “Fire’s a hungry friend to have, and it demands a high price of oxygen to summon. Most of thems unnatural folk can only last a couple of minutes, spark a few flames before they run out of air and pass out. Pyromancers, thems an expendable resource to be used by a tactician.
“But Cayno, he not like other pyromancers. Uses some type of breathing technique that sucks the air out from around him like a vortex. That way he barely even needs to tap into his own bodies’ reserves of oxygen. The Hellhound never runs out of fuel for his wildfires.”
Cecilia stood in place, so lost in her own thoughts about death and pyromancers, that she barely heard footsteps approach from behind her.
“Commander,” called her pursuer. The voice belonged to a woman, though it was throaty and deep.
She turned around to find Prince Janis’ sister Alejandra watching her from few paces away. Aleja stood tall and willowy, a thick braid of jet-black hair pooling on her left shoulder. She had the toothy smile of her brother, but her eyes were paler, with a slightly demonic quality, twinkling and amused. Cecilia found that Aleja always stared at her as if laughing at some inside joke made at her expense.
“My lady?” said Cecilia, feeling the hairs on her arm rise.
“We’ve been summoned by our dear leader.” There was sarcasm in Aleja’s tone, as if calling her brother a leader was a ridiculous notion. She held a scroll in her hand, which she rolled between her long fingers. “All the officers are meeting at my brother’s tent now. He’s calling an emergency meeting.”
Cecilia stiffened. “Emergency?”
Aleja smirked. “Oh, don’t worry. It’s the good kind of emergency.”
“And what exactly is the good kind of emergency?”
“The kind that ends with you swinging that heavy piece of steel at the half-wits guarding this city.” The former princess beckoned with a finger. “Come, Giantess. We mustn't keep my dear brother waiting. These days his patience is thinner than that wispy thing growing above his lip.”
Reluctantly, Cecilia followed. She had never liked Aleja, an opinion she shared with the prince, and for good reason.
Aleja had arrived late to her younger brother's campaign, waiting until Father Caollin had abandoned his king before declaring her side in the conflict. It was clear to Cecilla that the noble-woman viewed her little brother as a pawn, and would to attempt to use him to carve out her own piece of the kingdom, should the capital fall.
The numbers she brought were tough to dismiss, though. They needed Saint Aleja the Cruel, as much they hated to admit it.
Inside the commander’s tent, Janis was characteristically restless. He paced the length of the interior again and again, back and forth, hands clasped behind his back, never static, always moving.
“He’s late,” the prince said, his eyes throwing daggers at his sister.
Aleja watched him fidget from a seat in the back of the tent, donning a lazy grin, as if she was a spectator in some sort of play that was starting to lose her interest. “Relax,” she said, picking at her fingernails. “He’ll be here soon.”
“Do your men make a habit of making you wait on them?” Janis snapped. His knuckles turned white as he paced again, his eyes darting towards the flap of the tent. “My retainers know that the day they are late is the last day they get a chance to be late.”
Aleja let out a laugh, deep and throaty. “Nonsense.” She turned her eyes on Cecilia. “If the big one over there decided to stand you up, I doubt you’d kick her out of your little revenge cult.”
Janis ignored the jibe, distracted. The prince was defined by his paranoia and intensity, but today he seemed particularly on edge. The other commanders sat crammed around on another, squatting down on benches that were too small for them, whispering in hushed voices.
The whispers suggested that they were close. Close to making their move.
The flaps of tents shuddered, and a man that was not a commander entered the room. He bowed to the prince, then turned to the room and flashed a crooked, roguish smile. Cecilia noticed that Aleja returned his smile with a white one of her own.
He was a handsome man, with a mop of sandy blonde hair that fell down over his forehead in a row of attractively disheveled bangs. Blue eyes shined from beneath the bangs, regarding the room with the confidence of someone that instantly commands attention.
Yet, Cecilia knew this one by his face, and he was far from the high brass of Janis’ army. Her men called him Barth the Bastard, and they had picked him up and added him to their numbers on the campaign through the National Forest. Aside from the fact that he was decent with a blade in his hand, he was nothing but a peasant fleeing a lifetime sentence for stealing from his King.
So why did he look so pleased with himself? And why had Janis’ face lit up the moment he had entered the room?
“Barth,” Janis said quietly, as the room fell silent. “I was told you have news?”
The bandit pushed his bangs back from his forehead, smiling. “Aye, my lord. The best kind of news.” He paused, clasping his hands together, as the room leaned closer. “The Hell-Hound will no longer be guarding the city gates.”
A murmur broke out.
Janis raised a hand and the whispers ceased. He squinted at the man standing before him, frowning, though Cecilia could see the hungry excitement in his eyes. “Cayno Belin no longer serves the Highburns?”
Barth nodded. “That’s right.”
She stood up her from stool with screech. “Is that so, bandit?”
The bandit turned to Cecilia and dropped into a low bow. “Cecilia the Disowned,” he said, his eyes still facing at the dirt. “It is a great honor to be in your presence. And yes, for the third time, the greatest pyromancer of all time has broken his oath. Would you like me to think of a few more ways to rephrase that same sentiment or shall I -- ”
“You have a sharp tongue for a peasant,” Cecilia snapped. “I’d hold onto your opinions from now on if you value keeping it.” She crossed her arms. “How exactly do you know this?”
Barth looked up and flashed his smile again. “Because he’s here now.” He walked back over to the tent flap, opening it to the night. “Cayno, come on in lad.”
It was as if all the oxygen had been sucked out of the room, and suddenly Cecilia found that the air was thin and it very hard to breathe. As she panted, a hooded figure draped in a heavy wool cloak stepped silently into the room. With the figure came a whiff of smoke mixed with the rotting stench of decay, and several of the men sitting near Cecilia gagged.
The man’s face was covered completely by his cloak, but she recognized the shriveled black hand. It twitched and writhed as if it had a life of its own, the charred fingers clawing frantically at its master’s cloak.
Barth clapped the figure on the back. “It is my pleasure to welcome Sir Cayno Belin into our ranks.”
There was a hiss of metal as Cecilia drew her sword from its scabbard. She was already half-way across the room, pointing the tip of the giant greatsword directly at the stranger’s chest.
“Let me kill him, my lord,” she said to Prince Janis, her fury igniting. “This thing cannot be allowed to leave this tent alive.”
From the corner of her eye, Cecilia saw Aleja. She had a smug grin on her face, as if she found the entire spectacle enjoyable.
“It’s okay, Cecilia,” Janis said softly. “There is no cause for alarm. He is a friend.”
“Him? A friend?” Cecilia could hardly believe what she had just heard. Nobody hated mages more than Janis, let alone the Hell-hound. Her sword wavered. “My prince...he's a freak of nature. You swore never to resort to using one of these things! What is the meaning of this?”
"Must we resort to such bigotry, commander?" It was Aleja who answered. “Sir Belin feels bitterness towards his previous employers, the Highburns. He was mistreated while under their service, and has chosen to follow his heart. He wishes to fight for justice now, and liberate his city from a mad tyrant.” She turned to the hooded figure, still standing silently near the tent-flap. “Isn’t that right, sir?”
Cayno regarded the room silently. His breath rattled in and out, the candles flickering each time he inhaled, but that was the only sound he made. Finally, after a long pause, the figure lowered its hooded head in a curt nod.
Cecilia thought there was something unnatural about the way Cayno nodded. The movement was stiff and jerky, his head moving downward and his waist bending without any other parts of his body moving, almost like a marionette.
“You must forgive his silence,” Aleja said. “The poor soul lost his ability to speak after sustaining an injury inflicted by the Highburns. Sir Belin has already sworn oaths to both myself and brother in writing.”
“Does he even know how to write?” Cecilia demanded. “Prince Janis, end this at once. This is folly.”
“Cecilia, enough.” Prince Janis narrowed his eyes. “I understand you have concerns about this. I have no love for pyromancers myself. But was it not you that told me that we need all the help we can get, if we are to take this city by force?”
“I did, but this is not -- ”
“Then it’s settled.” Janis turned to face the room, his breath shallow, presumably from oxygen deprivation caused by the hooded figure. “Cayno intends to fight for us, which means the city defenses must still be scrambling to replace their most powerful soldier. Our enemies are vulnerable at this moment.” His eyes locked on Cecilia. “Your men -- are they prepared?”
“We’re always prepared, my lord.”
“Good.” A shadow of fear crossed Janis’ face, and Cayno’s breath rattled again. “Go and gather them now. We attack the capital this time tomorrow night.”

Abigail's Interlude - Dream of thousands of stars and hundreds of nights

Part 1

"It is a tiny bit of memory of a winter night"
"It was like a dimly shining jewel, picked up by a beach, hidden in a box"
"It was like a faint lamplight found in a pitch black deep forest"
"An unexpected event. A precious, very precious..."
Abigail
........................
Queen of Sheba
————.
David
——.
Geronimo looks
Abigail
........................
Abigail
........................
giggle
Tituba is restless...
Abigail
Ah, master?
Sorry. I was a little zoned out.
How can I help you? C—
David
Hahahahaha! Be it a wasteland or a desert!
As long as there are two people, there are value and exploitation. With three, choice and competition are born as well.
In other words, the wheel of economy starts turning!
Abigail looks
Queen of Sheba
It's too late!! Yes, yes, I know.
People left the Garden of Eden with integrity. They are caught up by the curse of gold.
Ever since, there are haves and have nots. And oh the friction keeps coming.
This cannot do. This cannot do. This cannot do?
The overwhelming jealousy is to be responded with wise endurance (long term strategy), The insatiable greed is to be healed with heart of charity (huge discount).
Such is the duty of us merchants, is it not?
David
Oh, is it so, Your Majesty?
You are a merchant, but also a queen foremost. Is it okay for you to be so easily involved in the mundane world?
This is your identity being destroyed. It is a problem even if you are a servant manifesting yourself in the 21st century.
Queen of Sheba
Hmmmm... I cannot discard that part of me!
I'm not like a carefree shepherd!
David
Huh? Do you have something to say?
Queen of Sheba
Fufu... yeah.
This Chaldea is a castle of martial and mysticism. However it is hardly prepared to engage and protect trade.
David
I see. That is true.
It is possible for Chaldea to take a strike from an unforseen aspect.
Queen of Sheba
Exactly!
Despite how isolated Chaldea is, it still houses human activity.
We should act like merchants, retain vigilance, and cooperate with each other...
For starters, Caesar and Columbus are irreplaceable.
Kid Gil is difficult to convince, but I have a lead...
We can name it something like "Chaldea Cartel". This name sounds lighthearted, but also evil somehow...
Something more guild-like, say "Chaldea Merchant Guild"...[1]
Geronimo stares
Geronimo
............
Queen of Sheba
Not only that, right now...
I can secure you a position since master is here...? glance, glance
David
Well. It is my honour to be so highly regarded.
Hm, in the end it is a offer that doesn't fit my nature. However, hmm.
I am moved by your gesture of fighting for our Chaldea as if it is a precious treasure.
The way you acted goes against the dignity as a queen. Yet that is exactly what makes you charming.
Did the king back then get turned on by this duality? Well, I am right now!
Queen of Sheba
What... Charming... Turned on!?
David
Ah, having this engaging conversation made me hungry.
Rather, this must be the effect of your sweet perfume.
I'm going to get some rugelach from the dinning hall.
If there is a convention of poetry or music, be sure to invite me. Well then.
Queen of Sheba
I...
I, I, I... I hate you!!
Get kicked by a camel and die!
How dare he reject my hospitality so bluntly!
He is going to cry in regret once Chaldea virtual currency plan is set in motion!
Geronimo
Excuse me, Queen of Sheba.
Queen of Sheba
Y, Yes? How can I help you?
Geronimo
It is good to have fierce debates, as they are proofs of unreserved friendships. However...
Do not act childishly. Especially when you are in front of her. She seems confused.
The scene of close friends in conflict can lead to bad dreams.
Even with the knowledge that the people in question are fine with it, this is still the case.
Queen of Sheba
Wa...
It is exactly as you said. I am sorry about the ugly sight...
Abigail
Excuse me... Please do not worry about that, Your Majesty.
I am fine, Geronimo-san. Thank you for worrying about me.
Eh... Commerce is a difficult topic that I cannot grasp...
But having Queen of Sheba and King David around... it just feels like a dream.
I always feel honoured and excited.
Geronimo
Um-hum. You heard her.
Queen of Sheba
Yes... Ears drop down
I will be sure to answer you expectations, Abigail.
Abigail
giggle Just call me Abi, Tituba... Ah...
I am sorry. I got the name wrong again...
Queen of Sheba
giggle it is alright.
Choice 1
Abigail
...... Yes. That is correct.
She was a slave... who worked for my uncle in Salem...
I wonder why I said her name...
She was completely, completely different from Queen of Sheba.
Choice 2
Abigail
...... Ahh... This is embarrassing...
Queen of Sheba
It's OK. To a servant, one's past and future are side by side. I hear that some even have memory before their summon.
Therefore—
It is natural for a person to overlap with a past acquaintance. Don't stress it.
Abigail
Yes. Thank you, Your Highness.
Geronimo
...... Um-hum.
Branching ends
Gilles and Nezha appear
Nezha
Here you are. Abi.
Abigail
Nezha, and Gilles de Rais-san. Good day.
Gilles de Rais
Good day to you. Abigail Williams.
Nezha
Invitation to tea party. Queen invites Abi to tea party.
Hmm? Wait? Princess? Was she a Queen?[2] In Chaldea, there are too many nobilities.
Abigail
Oh my...! Which nation is this Queen from?
Nezha
Hmm? Just go to dinning room to confirm.
Abigail
I feel stressed being called upon by name.
Geronimo
To lounge? I suppose you would not mind if I come along?
Nezha
Of course. Welcome.
Enjoy, my green tea with pride.
Geronimo, Abigail, Nezha walks away
Queen of Sheba
......
Choice 1
Queen of Sheba
I will refrain for now. Or I would end up meeting the Da-person.
Choice 2
Gilles de Rais
No. I came here for master.
Branching ends
Gilles de Rais
May we have a moment? There is something you should know.
Queen of Sheba
My, what a coincidence. I too have something like that.
Queen of Sheba
Well, this must be no coincidence.
Gilles de Rais
Oh my...
Transition
Gilles de Rais
Indeed.
Due to the location, Chaldea hardly get any clear sky...
However, with modern optical instruments and network, it is possible to observe stellar bodies.
There are even excellent technicians with a detailed knowledge of magecraft.
However, there are harmony and chaos of the stars, that go even under their radar.
The relation between two heavenly bodies, Sun and Saturn, both residing in Capricorn, has had a slight discrepancy.
To begin with, no amount of geniosity is able to completely predict movement of stars.
Therefore some disaster is approaching, is the conclusion that I came to.
Queen of Sheba
Ahh, are you surprised?
I too, am gifted the wisdom of stars, you know?
The art of astrology originated from farers of sea, and desert walkers, to whom nights are one's friend.
Modern scholars may deny this, but economy is closely linked to the movement of stars.
I got interrupted a moment ago.
But I too am here to report to master.
Seeing that Gilles de Rais-san came to the same conclusion makes me more confident.
Gilles de Rais
It does not seem this way to me. However, this does deepen my concern.
Queen of Sheba
Ah... You are right. I am sorry. Ehehe.
Choice 1
Gilles de Rais
Yes. Please be careful...
Choice 2
Queen of Sheba
Yes. That will do.
Branching ends
Gilles de Rais
Well then, I will be on my way.
Queen of Sheba
Are you talking to me?
Ah... About her (Abigail), right?
Yes... I am aware, that occasionally, she calls me by the wrong name.
And that this habit originated from her memory during her lifetime.
Recently it became a bit more frequent.
Queen of Sheba
Well...
Like I told her directly earlier, it is not something to worry about.
She have good friends around, looking after her.
Frankly speaking, as a servant of Chaldea, I also bear responsibility. However...
If it concerns you, then there must be some meaning behind it.
Then. Master.
This is time for you, as the contractor, and a mage, to act.
If the problem is not solved after you effort, I will be available to consult again.
In any case, do not forget about the matter about stars for a few of days.
Please exercise caution...

Part 2

Chaldea, Evening, Bedtime
???
Master...?
Master?
Eh... Could you please open the door?
???
I am sorry... Of course it is time for bed.
Eh... I know that it is impolite to visit at this time.
Choice 1
???
Yes...
Choice 2
???
............
I am sorry... I am... not used to the spiritual form...
It is scary... It feels like... I would not be myself...
Please... Don't be mean... master...
Ahh... I am a bad girl...
Open, Gate.
Branching ends
Abigail
Ah, Master...
Abigail

Abigail
Please...
Master... Please tell me...
Where did I go...? Where did I disappear to...?

Transition
Choice 1
Abigail
Yes... After having hot drinks...
The milk was a bit... too diluted.
Choice 2
Abigail
Yes, I will have more. With a hint of milk, and a lot of sugar.
I can't? Only a little tea leaves? Is that because of Chaldea's tariff?
Because it is evening? I see...
Branching ends
Abigail
... Would you hear me out, master.
I had a dream. A terrifying, painful dream.
It was as if my throat was choked tight...
No, this is not right. That was likely not a dream.
I mean, I can hardly remember anything that happens in a dream...
Choice 1
Abigail
Then... As I thought... This is my...
Choice 2
Abigail
I... see. The queen said so in the tea party too.
She said that it gave loneliness, and in some sense, happiness as well. Then... that was...
Branching ends
Abigail
My memory during life time... before I became a servant...
Abigail
Master, would you please listen to my selfish request?
Abigail
......
You will probably laugh because this is childish...
I want to stay with you till morning... Just for tonight. Or...
The gate of dreams...
The locked gate to lands of dream... is going to open...
Abigail
Thank you... Master...
You even gave me your bed. I could sleep on the chair.
............ The smell of master...
Hold... my hand...? Master...

giggle
???
Hmm~ It is a splendid starry night!
Brilliant, yet dreadful! It is as if a ball party for the stars!
Mephistopheles
drum roll Hmm?
Haa, ha. Chaldea's magus is truly a veteran.
You are extremely composed. ... Ha?
My appearance was most calming, you say? That is unexpected. Unexpected that is.
Well then, may I assume that you understand your situation?
Or would you like an explanation?
Choice 1
Mephistopheles
I see.
Choice 2
Mephistopheles
Huh? A servant's dream, you say?
Branching ends
Mephistopheles
Indeed. Indeed, this must be a dream.
And the body of the magus, is still inside the warm bed...
Ufufu. A dream of a servant is a fragment of their past. Destiny. Trauma. Regret.
It must be clearer than my scissors that it's nothing good, no?
Choice 1
Mephistopheles
Since it's a dream, we can just sit back and observe... Not thinking like that is just like you.
Choice 2
Mephistopheles
You are aware, but not concerned... Hmm.
Branching ends
Mephistopheles
Actually, if it is Miss William you are looking for, I have seen a young figure like her.
If you wish to pursue, you should go past this grassland.
Well then, I will go back to watch drama unf... Oops!?
Would you stop violently dragging my cloth? Yikes!
Mephistopheles
Hmm... Hmm...?
I hear hustle from the center of the village.
Abusive voices overflowing with Malice. Laughter filled with desires.
These are my favorites! How intriguing!
We cannot let this slip away! Let us hurry, magus!
Abigail
.............
Girls
We did not commit any crime!
After all, we did not know. We were told nothing!
That it would end up like that—
That adults would really... be hanged batch by batch!
That's right...! Everything, everything, ah... she is...!
Abigail
............
I knew it. I listened to what was not said.
I knew what was going to happen. I felt it by my heart.
What I did not know... yes...
It was that you... had hearts that were indeterminate and inadequate...
Am I wrong?
Girls
scared voice
Abigail
A daemon possessed us. A daemon enchanted us, who were innocent.
You all saw it, right?
You all saw the daemon sitting on the beam of the public hall, no?
Girl
Th, that is...
Abigail
It is too late. Too late to talk about this. Or...
Has the daemon not left Salem yet?
Who does it want to hang this time, I wonder?
Say, what do you think? Is it you...? Or you?
Girl
No... Do not come near me...!
Abigail
......
Villager
Shut up. Shut up kids! Shut your mouth! Seal your ears with sand! We have had enough!
There is no way back. People sent onto the gallow cannot come back!
Do not remind us of that loathsome day!
Villager
Yes... We had a dream. We were scared by the terrifying nightmare.
Abigail
Fufu...
Dream? That was a dream? Would you stop joking?
Villager
The judgement was a mistake. Since that the beginning, we were going against the will of God.
Confessions were forced and unjust. Witness statements were made by deteriorated minds.
There was no witches... being punished.
It will take time... But the integrity of the unjustly prosecuted will be restored.
This is yet another... trial of God...
Abigail
A trial...
Trembling in fear of night, shutting one's mouth tight... Can you call this a trial...?
Villager
Umm...
Even so, lest we forget prayer. We cannot lose appreciation towards God—
Girls
Yes. Yes. Repent, and next time...
Abigail
That kind of prayer is only lies told to yourself, is it not?
You are just pretending not to know. Because it feels good.
The situation could not be repaired. And it was fun to watch the it snowballing as it falls.
You just wanted to toy with the always bossy adults.
Girl
No. Stop... Stop already!
Abigail
In the end, none of you saw the same thing as I did, right?
You pretend that the daemon's voice is noise of the sea wind? You say that the shadows flying about the roofs are just smoke?
There was no doubt, inside us back then, there was a daemon!
I... will not forget...
I will not pretend it did not happen. It was not a dream.
Even if I reincarnate, I will forever, for eternity, shoulder this crime.
Abigail
Uncle is all gloomy, he won't talk to me.
Even Betty is ignoring me... Looking at me like an embarrassment. Scared..
And she... Tituba... is still in the dark dungeon.
I cannot meet her even if I beg to. I cannot give her my words of apology.
There is not a person in this village who would call me by my given name.
However... that is fine... See me, avoid me, and each time be reminded.
That there was a witch in Salem!
Abigail
...... Huh...?
Who...? No...
Mas... ter...?
Why am I... in Salem again?
Choice 1
Abigail
Dream...? This is...
I definitely did not wish for this—
Choice 2
Abigail
It is past, you say...?
Branching ends
Girl
I hate you, Abigail Williams!
You should just disappear somewhere on a boat.
Girls
Yes. Yes!
Abigail
......!
You don't need to tell me. I will fall head first!
But...!
Villager
Salem is finally recovering. We do not need a dirty kid like you!
Forget! Forget it!
Villager
Forget it!
Villager
That's right. Loathsome past must be sealed away. It must not go to the outside world!
Salem passed trial of God, with struggle.
Do not further blaspheme those who were sacrificed!
Abigail
Blasphemy, you say... No... No.
There was a witch. One was indeed here in Salem. There is no use pretending that it didn't happen.
I will absolutely not forget—
What happened in Salem, my birth place and my hometown. Be it sad memories... or happy ones...
Villager
This, this, girl with no fear of God!
Abigail
Ahh... Everyone is like a daemon!
Abigail
Master...!
Please, stop, do not fight... They are all people I know.
Just like friends in Chaldea for master, you know?
If not for what happened, they were all kind people... yet...
Choice 1
Abigail
Ahh, master... My chest... aches...
Master is... a bad person.
Choice 2
Mephistopheles
Here comes Mephi! Are you sure about it?
If you interrupt a nightmare midway, it will not be able to complete its intended purpose, you know?
Ha, haha! Murderous intent! Righteous indignation! Pity! Seems magus is determined...
Branching ends
Mephistopheles
Are we good? I will start then!?
To be honest, my cute bombs (babies) have been aching for some time!
Gyahaha. Gyaha. Uhyahahahahahaha!
Battle starts

Part 3

Villager
Hiss!!
Mephistopheles
Oh my, there are still more coming. There seems to be no end to them.
Abigail
Everyone...
Everyone is thinking that, they should erase me from memory as well.
Villager
Disappear! Be gone! You have been abandoned by God!
Abigail
You would not admit it no matter what. Admit that you were controlled by madness.
That you wished to me the end of craze, and left it to me.
Fine then. We will fall deeper. Keep descending. For ever and ever.
The heart of madness (taboo) is our old neighbor.
The impulse of leaving everything to a greater being, just like leaning against a giant tree, exists for everyone.
That is always by our side! Everyone... just like me...!
Abigail
Do not be mistaken. Remember this with your soul!
I am— I am the witch of Salem!!
Transition, hanging sound effect
Abigail
......
Are you feeling uncomfortable? Master?
Abigail
Are you OK? You seemed to have had a nightmare.
Let me wipe your sweat. Please stay still.
...... I am sorry. This must be my fault. It should not have been like this.
Abigail
You want to take a stroll around Chaldea to calm down?
Well... that would be an evening walk?
It sounds excellent. Would you mind if I come along?
Abigail
It is a serene night... We are really on top of a snow mountain.
You are... holding my hand? So that I know where to go in darkness?
Fufu... Do not worry? I cannot rely on you so much.
Choice 1
Abigail
Yes. Very much so. It is an evening that one should not waste sleeping.
Choice 2
Abigail
Ah... Yuggo, you seem sleepy?[3]
Wake up, Yuggo. We don't have such joyful evening all the time.
Branching ends
Abigail
Kitchen is this way, huh. Over there... is there a study?
The writers must be again wielding pens under lamps tonight.
What kind of play are they writing? Taking a peek would be distractive, right?
Abigail
......
Say... Leader-san?
Is Mashu-san... asleep?
Mashu is a serious person. It is unlikely for her to stay up...
If we stay up all night in secret... I'm sure she will get mad...
But...
But... Say... Can we be together... for a bit... longer?
Abigail
Thank you...
Abigail
......
Yes... Leader-san.
I am very happy to see Leader-san to be well.
Abigail
...... Yes. That is right.
Choice 1
Abigail
She is asleep.
I am like a faint shadow.
I feel sorry for showing me in Chaldea the scary dream.
Choice 2
What do you think?
To me, being able to talk to leader-san, makes time in reality and dream equally precious.
Branching ends
Abigail
The truth is... I came from a very, very distant place.
Hundreds of... lightyears away... It is very far...
With some opportunities, and a few coincidences... You thought of me...
That is how I am able to be here (in Chaldea).
The real me, is still on a journey—
Only when the stars coincide... I can only exist for the little while before daybreak.
Choice 1
Abigail
That much...? giggle
Then it is worth it to come here without my uncle knowing, I suppose?
Choice 2
Abigail
Yeah. If possible... that would be great...
Branching ends
Abigail
......
I wanted to talk to leader-san. I wanted to talk to someone who knows her.
The people who still have her in memory...
There are only leader-san, Mashu-san, and a few other people in Chaldea.
Ah... No... This is bad...
I thought that seeing leader-san's face would be enough to calm this feeling...
I will be able to let go... I thought so... But I...
Abigail
I am... a very bad girl...
Say, leader-san.. Please hold my hand...?
That is good enough...
That is enough... Please... Come with me...
Choice 1
Abigail
... Leader-san...
I am happy... I am happy... I am happy...
You are a righteous person... I thought I would be rejected...
Choice 2
Abigail
You would not... hold my hand? You are not going to touch me?
Is it because I am no longer the Abigail you know...?
Branching ends
Abigail
Eh... It hurts...
Geronimo
I cut the corrupted magical circuits.
It must have brought pain to master and her on the other side. Please forgive me.
Abigail
Who are you...?
A servant of Chaldea... That traditional dress... you must be a native of the new world...?
Geronimo
Indeed. My name is Geronimo. Girl who placed her soul in Abigail's body,
the blocking effect just now is called Asabikeshiinh. It is a magical item for catching dreams.
Originally it belonged to Ojibew people, but I too understand the mechanism. I can create it with Chaldea's workshop.
Abigail
You perpared such a thorough trap in advance...?
No... This is to be expected. There are excellent strategists in Chaldea.
Ha... one more?
Nezha
Abi.
Abigail
Nezha... Is that you?
Nezha
Yes. A moment. Abi.
Geronimo, Gilles de Rais, with the two's help, I joined Master's escort.
Mashu and Mata Hari are also prepared for the stellar threat.
The ones assigned to the gate of sleep, are me and Geronimo.
Indeed, this is a dream. In reality, me and Geronimo are both sleeping in the bed.
Using the realm of dreams as a bridge, an enchantment that connect Chaldea and the other world—
I am greatly impressed! I praise the growth of your skill!
Yet, as Marshal of the Central Altar, with my Fire-Tipped Spear, I cannot be allowed to overlook this.
I wish we didn't need to reunite like this.
Abigail
Yes... It is sad for me too...
However, I cannot give up... Tonight is probably... my last chance.
Leader-san is also a traveler...
He/She will set sail to a thin boundary of cosmos (world) and void (sky), where even I cannot reach...
Nezha
Abi is my peerless friend. That is why I cannot allow this.
If you make a mistake, I will exterminate the root with my life!
Abigail
giggle That is right. You were like this.
I like you, Nezha.
Nezha
......
Geronimo
Nezha is determined to commit to a frontal confrontation with spear. Is that good with you, my friend?
Do you want to fight as well?
Choice 1
Geronimo
That is true. And now is the time.
Well then, extreme measures are in order. It must be tough for you to do it—
I will execute your order.
Choice 2
Geronimo
Easy for you to say! That is very difficult in this rigged dream.
However, that is also my wish—
Let's do it.
Branching ends
Battle starts

Part 4

Nezha
Abi! Think twice!
Abigail
I will not let you escape... There is no escape...
The more you corner me, the more our bond deepens. Leader-san, it brings you to me.
You will be pulled to my side.
Alright. Open, Gate.
Nezha
Abi!
Geronimo
Hmm... She summoned more enemy!
Battle starts

Part 5

Geronimo
We defeated enemy in sight... Now Abigail is nowhere to be seen.
Nezha
She fled to the center of the base!
Chase her down at once!
Geronimo
But...
Nezha
Monsters, spreading, rampaging! Exterminate them before they do whatever they want!
Geronimo
No. Do not lose control. This is but a dream.
While we can interact with each other, the other side still has a leading advantage.
I have realized this in battle. The time we experience here is not certain.
Nezha
Then, we should inform backup, and call reinforcement. Should one of us return to reality for the moment?
There is no doubt more monsters are waiting ahead.
Nezha
...!? Master, are you serious!?
Geronimo
... Tell me your plan.
Geronimo
......
Nezha
......
Geronimo
In other words... Abigail in Salem, and Abigail of Chaldea too,
have personalities that are still in development.
Indeed, there must be a deep reason for a sensitive girl to manifest in the turmoil of the witch hunt.
Servant she may be, it is a cruel thing. I hate the destiny of her being summoned.
Nezha
If you ask me... She has fallen...
Not growth nor sublimation. She is corrupted. She is indulged in amorality.
A foreigner is dangerous and alien. She is enthralled by the daemon in the abyss.
There needs to be one keeping an eye out, and discipline her strictly living with her.
Nezha
Hmm.
Geronimo
Then friend, you mean that you are going to be a tent (tipi), one which welcomes exhausted travelers and relieves their tiredness.
Geronimo
Understood. I will follow master's order.
Nezha
!? Geronimo and I are going to leave everything to master and exit the dream?
Geronimo
This is the best way to make Abigail drop her guard. Way better than me getting in with weapon in hand.
Not to mention that it was not me who saved her in Salem. Master and Nezha, you two did.
Nezha
... Thorough consideration... Acknowledgement... Reluctant agreement.
However, if anything is off, I will be back in no time.
Master, Abi is up to you.
Geronimo & Nezha
Nod
???
......
Choice 1
???
...... Leader-san, right...?
Go ahead. You have the key.
Choice 2
???
......
......
Why don't you enter? I will not run away anymore...
Branching ends
Abigail
Leader-san...
It should not have been like this...
I did not mean to hurt Nezha and leader-san's friends...
I am sorry... I will disappear soon...
Until the gate of stars closes, please allow me to stay here...
Abigail
Wow. This is magnificent.
It is less of a food and more of a dessert for some formal occasion.
I am jealous of Abigail (me) at Chaldea.
Thank you, leader-san... For remembering what I like.
But, I will pass this time. I don't need to be spoiled...
......
I...
I want to meet Lavinia... want to meet Lavinia...
I want to hear her voice once again... I want to watch stars with her, shoulder by shoulder, next to a camp fire.
But... but I don't have the power to do so.
No matter how many gates I open, I cannot arrive at that nostalgic place.
Uncle said, that there is a path. But...
When I do meet Lavinia Whateley, I would not be myself anymore.
I will not only be able to use the silver key... but also become a god-like being, guarding the gate of space-time.
Choice 1
Abigail
......
Yes.
This might surprise you. Everyday is filled with adventures and surprising events.
Choice 2
Abigail
......
That is true.
Branching ends
Abigail
Right now, I am... My real body is residing in a certain planet's big old library.
There are books about all kinds of stars, ones about ancient earth even. The walls are filled by books.
She would be very happy. She loves books after all.
......
Eh... How is me doing at Chaldea...? Is she being... useful?
Is she being childish and giving leader-san troubles...?
Choice 1
Abigail
Really...?
She became a proper servant? She must worked very hard.
Well... once every month is enough... would you praise her...?
No, if you do it everyday, she is going to faint from excitement.
Choice 2
Abigail
Oh...
I am kind of happy. It must be thanks to leader-san and Mashu-san.
The one from earlier... Geronimo-san? I have to apologize to him too...
Branching ends
Then... did she make good friends? Well, yes... I can tell.
I can feel her trust towards allies, even with this Saint Graph (body) that I forcefully took over.
It is because Abigail (me) of Chaldea is not rejecting me, that I am able to talk to leader-san like this.
I am sorry...
I have stayed for too long. I will leave now.
I need to return you to those people who are worried.
I need to return this body too. ... Leader... -san?
Are you alright?
Abigail
... Yes.
Abigail
... Leader-san.
It is fine to cry.
It is fine to cry in front of me. If you don't mind, you can come between my arms.
You will feel a bit less lonely. So...
Leader-san.
I wanted to call you master for just once...
Farewell... Please treat to Abi (me) nicely.
Transition
"They fell a sleep... both of them. Must be tired after crying..."
"Even in dream, they shouldering a duty that one cannot escape from-"
Lavinia appears
Lavinia
"...... U... a..."
"A, Abi, poor girl..."
"There is nothing I can do..."
"I, I can't even wipe the tear on you cheek..."
Sanson
"—Yeah. Unfortunately."
Sanson appears beside Lavinia
"We are but a phantasm for one night."
"A projection of an ephemeral wish they created in a dream."
Lavinia
"Yes, but still..."
"I miss you... Abi."
"I am a fiction, whose content can be summed up in a few pages of script. Transient like a bubble."
"However, Abi, the bond we forged definitely existed."
"As long as you remain who you are... I will be here too..."
"I will not f, forget the warmth of your finger when you combed my hair..."
nya, a black cat appears
Lavinia
"A black cat...? From where?"
Sanson
"As far as I know, there should be no cat kept at Chaldea..."
"Could it be a familiar of someone... No... huh?"
"I am surprised. This is a real cat. A creature that travels between dream and reality, huh."
Lavinia
"Cats have always been like this."
"... Ah..."
Randolph Carter's silhouette appears
???
...fu.
To be able to come this far with her spirit, this girl is always full of surprises.
Without a friend as a guide, I would have been lost by now.
Hmm... Was I late again, or was everything alright...
Lavinia
"Carter."
Sanson
"So, you have come to take Abigail home."
Space-time Traveling Gentleman
Indeed this is the case.
Abi has just fallen asleep. I will bring her back now.
Lavinia
"You do that..."
"C, carter? May I ask a question...?"
Space-time Traveling Gentleman
What is it?
In no time, the time of stars will end. Please be concise.
Lavinia
"She... Abi is the host of the silver key's power. She is a miko of the foreign gods..."
"One day, the miracle of crossing the sleep of roses, and arriving at the Final Gate..."
"Like a kingston valve at the bottom of the ship that is this world... It could also be threat..."
"Then..."
"The old one that stands at the gate, is it what Abi will be in the future...?"
"Or, is it our fate... to one day become one with the foreign gods...?"
Space-time Traveling Gentleman
Hmm...
I already said the same thing to people of Chaldea. It is up to Abi.
However, no matter how far she advances on her path.
It is my duty to make sure that she remains a friend of humanity, and to protect her so she can maintain the heart of a human.
Just like you two, who despite being a frail concept, still protect a friend's dream...
Sanson
"Hmm. I see."
Lavinia
"I see."
Sanson
"My master is also fighting at the frontier of the Human Order. He/she struggles in the bottom of the abyss, wounded deeply—"
"He/she is fighting with his/her life, in order not to become lost—"
"That is exactly why he/she needs memories like a human would experience. Once in a while, he/she should have a warm, gentle dream."
"Hmm... Now I'm talking like a musician"
"Anyways— You are the same."
Laviania
"Eh...? Me...? Eh?"
Sanson
"In a dream, you should be fine acting more like a child."
"That's a privilege of a young lady."
Lavinia
"U... A... S, stop... I am... just a concept..."
"You are still... A silly person..."
The next day, Elevenses
Robin Hood
Huh, a dream? Well, that happens.
After all, unlike usual, last night the sky was clear.
It's normal to have a dream or two. When it's a comfortable day, you mind gets to rest too, you know?
Sanson
Security stance also had a special shift.
Robin Hood
Sure did. I was mobilized for a moment. Turned out to be nothing.
Abigail
My, is that true...?
I was sound asleep. I did not notice a thing...
I seemed to have visited master's room... But I woke up in my own...
Sanson
What dream did you have, Abi? Please tell me if you don't mind.
Abigail
Eh... Sure?
Sorry that I can't remember very clearly...
I had a dream of a friend. A friend in the village where I lived.
Sanson
That village would be... Abi, your hometown Salem.
Robin Hood
......
Abigail
Yes.
She was a beautiful... white haired girl...
The rest, well, I cannot remember that well...
She was a girl with a mysterious aura like a fairy of stars. I can remember that for sure.
Maybe... We must have been very close friends.
Robin Hood
That's right. You must have been good friends.
You must have thrown horse shit at each other, or put frogs into tea cup.
Abigail
Jeez, Robin-san! We will not do something like that!
I said she was a girl, didn't I? We go to church on weekends...
We pick up shells by the beach, then line them up to write our name...
We hide in a place where no adults knew, knit cute patchwork quilt and chat with each other...
It was—
Robin Hood
Alright. That was quite enough.
"— It was a dream like memory."

Translator Notes

[1] Chaldea Merchant Guild's story continues in Columbus' interlude.
[2] Here Nezha used 3 words: 女王(queen as ruling monarch), 王女(princess), 王妃(queen as ruling monarch's wife). Abigail revealed in part 2 that it was an 王妃 attending the tea party.
[3] ユーゴ is the name of the stuffed animal Abigail carries with her. Here it is translated to Yuggo, as it is suspected to be named after Yuggoth (ユゴス). Additionally, ミーゴ is the name of the stuffed animal Abigail gave to Lavinia, which seems to be named after Mi-Go (ミ=ゴ).
